Still so far to go...
with my writing. I work everyday at my day job and I write during the early and late hours of the day. Some days I don't open anything to work on. Why? Because my mind is exhausted from the full time job and family.
During those times, I like to open a good book and read. This is when I realize I have so far to go to reach the point of the authors I'm reading. The sentences, words--everything is so smooth and the writing wonderful.
Once more, I came to realize this fact this past weekend while reading Allison Chase's latest release, "Dark Temptation". She's good, really good. I sat, riveted to the pages, unable to hear or see anything but what was happening in the book.
I want that with my writing. I will have that. Each day is another experiment in my work, trying new techniques, feeling comfortable with them. Throwing old habits out the door while developing new ones.
So here's to you, Allison, for the inspiration you've given me.
Oh, and for those of you who want a great read, get both books by her:Dark Obsession and now, Dark Temptation. They are well worth the read.
